Overview

To optimise Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust's website and hosting solution, BeingOnline were asked to plan and execute an upgrade of the current Sitecore platform to the latest version (10.1), followed by a migration exercise to port their current solution into an Imperial owned Microsoft Azure's hosting environment. This included the main website at www.imperial.nhs.uk as well as four other affiliated websites within the same infrastructure. Traffic across the sites is high, with the main site averaging 300k monthly visits, peaking at 400k visits per month at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. With this in mind the new hosting environment has been carefully configured with key considerations for optimal security, resilience and scalability. The timeframe for this project was 12 weeks with weekly progress reports.
