BBC enriches people's lives with great programmes and services that inform, educate and entertain.

The brief

Engaging, up-to-the-minute content is the difference between a good website and a great one!

Creating online content that is relevant and targeted is critical in this busy and noisy media. Many companies do not give websites the attention they deserve. However that's not the case with the BBC. The BBC provides innovative and distinctive online content... and lots of it.

When Being were asked to develop a new homepage for BBC Northern Ireland the problem was how to accommodate and prioritise so many differing sites and areas of content within the local BBC network all competing for limited amount of space on the BBC NI homepage.

The BBC also recognised that the homepage is a key marketing opportunity. Being were also asked to address how the homepage could structure hierarchical content to promote key events and programming information.

The result

The result is a much easier and 'smarter' search facility for locating local content, freeing up the rest of the page to create big impact 'dialogue' as well as accommodating live feeds and 2nd level promotional content.

Acting as a gateway to 2 million page impressions a month, the new BBC NI homepage is built on our own CMS – Etelligent -that allows editorial staff to create multiple versions built up to seven days in advance.
